Reynaldo "Rey" Oltivero, Sr., 57, of Dimmitt, TX passed away on September 3, 2013 in Amarillo. Rey was born to Juan and Maria Oltivero on September 19, 1955 in New Gulf Texas. He was a resident of Dimmitt most of his life and spent some of his childhood in Raymondville, TX. He attended Dimmitt schools and married Sulema Balderas on January 12, 1974 in Dimmitt. He was a Boiler Operator for Cargill Plant for 31 years and was recently employed with Dimmitt Corn Milling for 2 years. Everyone knew him as "Tio Rey" and "Pops". He enjoyed his livestock goats, watching the Dallas Cowboys and cooking, but most of all he enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren and family. He had a very welcoming spirit to everyone. He is survived by his spouse, Sulema Oltivero of Dimmitt, 2 daughters, Lizandra Reyes and husband Gabriel, Sr. and Sonia Oltivero all of Dimmitt, 1 son Reynaldo Oltivero, Jr., and wife Joanne of Dimmitt, 9 grandchildren, Aaron Oltivero, Gabby Reyes, Alexis Reyes, Gabriel Reyes, Jr., Kasey Garza, Santana Garza Jr., Trey Oltivero, Matthew Oltivero, and Jordan Oltivero all of Dimmitt; 1 great-granddaughter, Alizay Bai Oltivero of Dimmitt, 3 brothers, Esteban Oltivero, Sr., Santos Oltivero, Sr., and Jesus Oltivero all of Dimmitt, 2 sisters, Mary Juarez of Dimmitt, and Lupe Zuniga of Weslaco. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Juana Ruiz, Rosa Sepeda, 2 brothers, Juan Oltivero Jr., and Richard Oltivero.
