R.G. Henderson, 91, of Hart, TX passed away on December 4, 2011 in Olton, Texas. Funeral Services will be held in the First Baptist Church in Hart at 2:00PM on Thursday with Kate Hutson and Larry Bloskas officiating. Burial will follow in Hart Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. R.G. Henderson was born on October 4, 1920 to Redlin Green Henderson and Frankie Ann Henderson in Lamb County. He grew up between Hart and Olton. He enlisted in the Army in 1942 and was a World War II Veteran. On March 30, 1946 he married Alva Jobe in Clovis, New Mexico and they farmed for many years in Hart. R.G. was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Hart and was a school board member for the Hart Independent School District for many years. Most of all he enjoyed spending his time with his family while they participated in sports and extra curricular activities. R.G. is survived by his lovely wife Alva Henderson of Hart, 2 daughters; Retta Knox and husband David and Nelda Ethridge and Husband Wayne all of Hart, 1 son; Rex Henderson and wife Diane of Wasilla, Alaska, 5 sisters; Bea Cole of Hart, Glee Williams of Canyon, TX, Joy Owens of Carlsbad, NM, Nola Jobe and husband Clayton of Grandbury, TX, and Jane Schielock of Amarillo, 6 grandchildren; Cindy Alrimaly, Shelly Howard, Traci Shelton, Melissa Waller, Amanda Crow, and Tami Thunander, 13 Great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
