Roberto Vasquez Garcia, 68, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018 in Amarillo.  Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Aaron Garcia officiating.  Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at the funeral home.

Roberto Vasquez Garcia was born on May 26, 1949 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Pablo Garcia and Elmina (Vasquez) Garcia.  Roberto enlisted in the United States Navy in 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1973 and served during the Vietnam conflict.  On August 16, 1998 he married Rosa (Presas) Garcia.  Roberto was a very simple man and enjoyed driving around the community in his power chair.  Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family who he loved very much.

Roberto is survived by his wife, Rosa Garcia of Dimmitt, TX, children, Tristan Garcia of San Diego, CA, Natalie Nicole Garcia of San Diego, CA, Misty Anes, Melynda Borrego and Mindy Lopez all of Dimmitt, TX, seven sisters, Paulita Ruiz and her husband Arturo of Bishop, Texas, Rose Lawson and her husband Charlie of Oklahoma, Lupe Garcia and her husband Robert of Hart, Agnes Garcia of Hereford, Grace Garcia of Gainsville, Ida Garcia of Hereford and Valentina Allen and her husband John of Oklahoma; two brothers, Ezekel Garcia and Elezar Garcia both of Hereford; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Roberto is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Esteban Garcia and one sister, Flora Batis.
