Roger Underwood, 59, of Dimmitt passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in Dimmitt.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Dimmitt with Rev. T.C. Broom officiating, burial to follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dimmitt. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Family and friend visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Roger was born July 19, 1956 in Hereford, Texas to Roy Dale Underwood and Shirley Cornett. Roger was raised in Dimmitt and has been a resident of Dimmitt all his life. He graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1974. He attended West Texas A & M University and graduated in 1981 with an Agribusiness degree. He farmed the Tam Ann community. Roger enjoyed hauling cattle with his step-dad, Don, but most of all he loved his son Schuler and spending quality time with him. Roger was a very giving person.

He is survived by his mother Shirley Cornett of Dimmitt, a son Schuler Underwood of Fredericksburg, a sister Brenda Porsch and husband Willie and a brother Danny Underwood and wife Debbie all of Dimmitt; four nephews, Jake and Landon Porsch and Dennis and David Underwood. He is preceded in death by his father Roy Dale Underwood, a niece Kami Porsch and a step-dad Don Cornett.
