Rosa Lee "Meme" Hood, 94, of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, in Dimmitt, Texas. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date and time. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral home of Dimmitt, Texas.

Rosa was born on November 18, 1928, in Littlefield, Texas, to Roy and Iona (Riggle) Jackson. She lived in Ruidoso, NM., from 1993-2014; Rosa lived in Dimmitt prior to 2014, where she worked for Walt Hansen at IGA grocery store as a cashier from 1988-1993. "Meme" was an avid and active Church of Christ believer. She enjoyed crocheting, crafting her Christmas stockings, playing video games on her tablet, especially, the slot machines and going to the casinos to play the slot machines when her granddaughter, Tara, would take her. "Meme" loved the mountains and enjoyed living in Ruidoso, NM., but wanted to be closer to her family, and her one and only granddaughter, whom she thought the world of, Tara. She loved her family tremendously and was a wonderful and amazing mother, mother-in-law, and the Best "Meme" to Tara and Lucy, her fur baby. She will be dearly missed by many.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Linda Grand and her husband Gary of Dimmitt, Texas, her granddaughter, Tara Grand of Dimmitt, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosa is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Loyd Hood, a son Tommy Hood, a grandson, Tracy Grand, 3 brothers Roy, Charles and Teddy Jackson, and a sister, Louise "Sis" McConnell.
