Ruth Carter, 82, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016 in Dimmitt. No services are planned. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.

Ruth was born August 20, 1933 southwest of Hart, Texas. She attended Hart schools, and later attended business school in Plainview, Texas. She worked as a secretary for 30 years. She married Boyce Carter in February 1958.

She is survived by one sister, Dorothy Mayfield of Denton; three nieces, Marla Morgan of Denton, Denice Harris of Ruidoso and Robbie Grossman of Hart; six nephews, Britt Mayfield of Vernon, Bryan Mayfield of California, Dale McLain of Amarillo, Danny Rice of Dimmitt and Scott Rice of Hart.

She is preceded in death by her husband Boyce Carter in October 2009.
