Ruth Jackson, 83, of Dimmitt passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015 in Dimmitt. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Dimmitt with Rev. T.C. Broom officiating with burial to follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dimmitt. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Family and friend visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Ruth was born October 31, 1932 in Flagg, Texas to Sid and Myrtle (Knox) Sheffy. She attended schools in Flagg and Dimmitt. She married Kenneth Wayne Jackson on January 1, 1950 in Clovis, NM. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dimmitt, member of the Book Club and of the Bridge Club. She enjoyed gardening in her yard, painting, playing bridge, reading, sewing and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by one son, Richard Jackson and wife Trudy of Oklahoma City, OK, two daughters, Nancy Fuller of Dimmitt and Patti Sammann and husband Charles of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Jason and James Jackson, John Fuller, Amy Welch, Angela Martinez and Elizabeth Gonzales; nine great grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Sheffy Bond of Kerrville, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth Wayne Jackson, a grandson Logan Cartwright, four brothers Ted, Bob, Rex and Don Sheffy and one sister Tommie Bills.
