Sarah Bernice Dutton, 83, of Lubbock, formerly of Earth, Texas passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in Lubbock. Graveside services will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery located at 1599 CR 513, Dimmitt, Texas with Pastor Lon Hillis officiating.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas. Family and friend visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Sarah was born July 1, 1935 in Jones County, Texas to Cleo Isaac and Jewel Christine (DeVaney) Connell. Sarah had been a resident of Earth since 1963, moving from Jones County. She and her husband farmed in Earth, Texas, up until 1990. She moved to Lubbock in 2009 and went to work part-time as a flower arranger at Market Street United till 2016. Sarah was a member of First Baptist Church of Earth and the Garden Club of Earth. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, canning and when her children were younger she was very involved with their horse shows and stock shows, but her greatest love was spending time with her children, grandchildren and traveling to Colorado.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children Ricky Dutton  and his wife Tony of Tioga, Texas and Mitzi Bennett of Lipan, Texas; a brother Richard Connell of Grand Junction, CO. and a sister Geneva Pearce of Odessa, Texas; six grandchildren Chloé Smith of Midland; Krista Luckie of Sanger; Chisum Smith of Lipan; Kaytlyn Kuecher and her husband Kyle of San Antonio; Stormi Dutton and Kody Dutton both of Tioga.

Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alford Bryan Dutton and a grandson Marshall Gregg Leathers.
