Severo "Sam" Espinosa, 92 a long-time Dimmitt resident passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, in Hereford. Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 11, 2024, at 10:00 A.M.  at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father David Contreras and Deacons John Nino and Paul Herrera officiating, burial will follow at Castro Memorial Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. A family and friend visitation and viewing will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 1:00-7:00 P.M. with a Vigil being recited at 5:00 P.M. followed by a Rosary at the funeral home.

Sam was born to his parents Pablo and Rumalda (Rosales) Espinosa in Gonzales, Texas on November 6, 1931. Being raised in the South Texas area, he then met his love, Angelita Orozco, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Sam asked for her hand in marriage and were married on May 3rd, 1955. After starting their family there, they then moved to Dimmitt, Texas in 1957. Making Dimmitt their home and raising their beautiful family.

Sam had a tremendous work ethic; he began working in the cotton industry for many years. He then became a self-employed truck driver and operator of S.R. Espinosa Trucking for at least 60 years. However, if he wasn't working, he was always at home working in his yard or on his trucks. Sam loved to spend time with his family and instilled many lessons in his children. A fond memory that his children have is in the early 60's they would spend their weekends watching their Dad play in a men's baseball league with his brother Frank & many other friends. He loved listening to music & drinking a cold beer.

Those left to carry on his legacy are his children, Sam Espinosa, Jr., Esther Espinosa all of Dimmitt, Texas, Larry Espinosa and his wife Mary of Waco, Texas, Paul Espinosa and his wife Rachel of Amarillo, Texas, Connie Vasquez of Brownwood, Texas, Linda Espinosa of San Marcos; his grandchildren, Angela Gomez, Laura Throckmorton and her husband Cody, Michael Espinosa, Sabian Espinosa, D.J. Zamora, Angel Vasquez; his great-grandchildren, Eric, Ryver, Maribel, Ziggy, Sydney, Raya, Deacon and Dayton; one sister Carmen Guttierez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Those preceding him in passing are his parents, Pablo and Rumalda Espinosa; his loving wife Angelita Espinosa; his grandchildren, Eric Espinosa, Samuel Espinosa, Bailey Espinosa; his siblings, Frank Espinosa, Gregoria Garcia, Felicita Munoz, Guadalupe Garcia, Rita Esparza, Cleotilde Santos and Fannie Garcia.
