Sylvia Guerra Perez, 68, of Amarillo, Texas, formerly of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, in Amarillo, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dimmitt, Texas, with Celebrant Arockiaraj Malapady and Deacons Richard Martinez and John Nino officiating. Burial to follow at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Dimmitt, Texas. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas. Viewing will be on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 4:00-6:00PM and rosary and vigil beginning at 5:30PM at the funeral home.

Sylvia was born August 30, 1953, in Brownsville, Texas, to David and Santos (Guerra) Perez. Sylvia was raised in Dimmitt, Texas, and graduating from Dimmitt High School. She attended college in New Mexico, then shortly thereafter, moved to Amarillo, Texas and began working at High Plains Baptist Hospital (BSA) as a surgical technician. She worked at BSA for several years, retiring from there. Sylvia enjoyed going to the beach, traveling, playing Bingo, taking many pictures of family, friends, and good times, and enjoying life to the fullest. Sylvia had a great, full of energy, spunky personality and was always the life of the party. She loved spending time with her family, and she absolutely loved her nieces and nephews dearly. She will be missed by so many.

Sylvia is survived by her fur babies, Cookie, a Chihuahua and Jagger, a mixed Terrier; her siblings Joe Perez and his wife Donna of Amarillo, Texas, Daniel Perez and his wife Susan of Lubbock, Texas, Delia Perez of Ellis, Texas, Elias Perez and his wife Susan of Huntsville, Texas, Luis Perez and Carlos Perez both of Amarillo, Texas, Priscilla Perez of Lubbock, Texas, and George Perez of Los Fresnos, Texas; 2 grandchildren Hannah Perez and Jordan Perez; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, a son Richard Isaac Perez, and 2 brothers David, Jr. and Lino Perez.
