Sylvia Stubblefield, 88, of Richmond, Texas passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 6, 2022, in Richmond, Texas. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 2:00PM at the Fourth & Bedford Church of Christ with Ronnie Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00AM to 11:30AM at the church.
Sylvia Stubblefield was born on August 6, 1934, in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Thomas Choate and Ollie (Dixon) Choate. Sylvia was a longtime resident of Dimmitt, Texas before moving to Richmond, Texas to be closer to family. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and longtime member of the Fourth & Bedford Church of Christ. Sylvia loved to cook, make quilts, work in her yard and garden. But most of all she loved spending time with her family who she loved beyond measure.
Sylvia is survived by her children, Joe Stubblefield of San Antonio, TX, Tommy Davis of Clarendon, TX and Cynthia Gayle and husband Charlie of Richmond, TX, 2 brothers, Dean Choate of Eufaula, OK and Freeman Choate of Geary, OK, 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren along with a son-in-law, Robby Ott of San Antonio, TX and daughter-in-law, Wanda Stubblefield, of San Antonio, TX.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ollie Choate, husband, Ted Stubblefield, 4 children, Jackie Davis, Tom Stubblefield, Kathy Ott, and Linda Frautschi, 7 brothers, Haskell Choate, Billie Choate, Charles Choate, Leon Choate, Howard Choate, John Choate and Wayne Choate, 3 sisters, Emma Phillips, Mildred Huseman, and Viola Russell.
