Obituary

Tanya Lynn Martin, 68, of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away in Amarillo on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

Tanya was born on March 15, 1958, in Gainesville, Florida, to Barbara Lightfoot and Raymon Artrip. She attended school in Hereford and was a longtime resident of both Hereford and Dimmitt. For many years, she worked as a home health care provider for Outreach and Caprock.

Tanya enjoyed cooking, get-togethers, making jewelry, doing her nails and makeup, and window-shopping, but she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was always beautifully put together in a cute outfit, jewelry, and accessories, with her hair and makeup done. She loved fashion, and shopping for birthday and Christmas gifts for her family was one of her favorite things. Whenever she gave someone clothes, a fashion show was sure to follow so she could admire her masterpiece.

Tanya had beautiful honey-colored eyes, blond hair, and an infectious smile and laugh. She loved her family wholeheartedly, regardless of any disagreements, and her love for her children and grandchildren was unmatched. Generous to her core, she would give the clothes off her back or her last dollar to anyone in need. Tougher than a bulldog, she loved deeply and fiercely.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dorothy “Honey” Martin and Cecil “GiGi” Martin; her mother, Barbara Lightfoot; her father, Raymond Artrip; her brother, Shawn Lightfoot; her great-granddaughter, Aurora Jensen-Bush; and her sisters at heart, Jeanie Wilbanks and Tami Willbanks.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Dorothy Perkins and wife Secret, Jonathan Martin and wife Blanca Quezada, and TiAnna Martin and husband David Porras; her grandchildren, Jacob Martinez, Jayden Martinez, Jayse Bush, Emma Martin, Levi Martin, Kaylee Martin, Violet Murillo, Luke Martin, and Samuel Porras; her brother, Ty Lightfoot; her niece and nephews, Amanda Lightfoot, Max Lightfoot, Patrick Lightfoot, and Randi Winn; her sister-in-law, Reesa Lightfoot; her ex-husband, Larry Reynolds; her partner, Charles Pevehouse; and the extended family and friends she dearly loved.

Memorial Service will be on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 10:45 AM at the First Methodist Church in Dimmitt with Pastor Eliezer Garrido officiating.
