Ted Godfrey, 85, of Lubbock, Texas formerly of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, in Plainview.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 2:00PM in the Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00PM – 2:00PM at the funeral home.
Ted Godfrey was born on April 6, 1937, to John Wesley Godfrey and Pauline (Dinkins) Godfrey in Dimmitt, Texas. Ted grew up in Dimmitt and graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1955. Ted farmed in the Panhandle area for many years and then in Pecos for several more years before his retirement. He will always be remembered as a hard worker who spent many long hours out on the farm. He was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ.
Ted is survived by his wife, Murlene Godfrey of Lubbock, three daughters, Jayne Godfrey of Lubbock, Dalene Baker and husband Bill of Spearman, Julie Henrikson and husband Erik of Colorado Springs and one son, Chuck Godfrey, and wife Karla of Grand Prairie, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and one sister, Carolyn Grunhof of Blanchard, OK.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Pauline Godfrey along with six siblings.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity of choice.
