Ted Hankins' Obituary
Ted Hankins, 83, of Hart, Texas passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018 in Hart, Texas. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 2:00PM in the Colonial Funeral Chapel with John Smith officiating with cremation following. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.
Ted Hankins was born on June 28, 1935 in Byers, Oklahoma to Chester Jack Hankins and Goldie Pauline (Giddens) Hankins. He was a longtime resident of Hart, Texas since 1951. He married Betty Phillips on September 1, 1956 in Hart. Ted worked as a cowboy in the feed-yard industry most of his adult life until his retirement. After his retirement he began to mow lawns which kept him busy for over 20 years up until this year. Ted enjoyed being around horses in his spare time but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.
Ted is survived by his spouse, Betty Hankins of Hart, TX, daughter, Paula Hankins of Dublin, GA, 5 grandchildren, D'Lynn Reed, Christopher Hankins, Codie Hankins, Shauna Hankins and Erik Gogan, 3 great-grandchildren, Jaryn Reed, Jathan Reed and Kane Gogan.
Ted is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons, Teddy Bryan Hankins and Gregory Lane Hankins along with 2 brothers and 1 sister.
