Tomasa Garcia Leal's Obituary
Tomasa Garcia Leal, 69, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 in Dimmitt. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 10:00AM in the Fourth & Bedford Church of Christ with Pedro Gonzales, minister and Pastor Israel Olivo officiating. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home. The Leal family will receive friends from 5:00PM to 7:00PM on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Tomasa was born on April 14, 1949 in La Villa, Texas to Luz Garcia and Josefa (Garza) Garcia. She has lived in the Dimmitt community since 1967. Tomasa married Johnny Leal on June 5, 1976 in Dimmitt, Texas at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Tomasa worked for the Dimmitt Independent School District for 30 years as a Teacher's Aide before her retirement. She was a faithful member of Iglesia de Cristo and was very faithful to her Lord. Tomasa enjoyed cooking, baking, listening to Tejano music and volunteering at the Rose Garden. Most importantly she was an awesome and faithful friend to many and a most loving wife, mother and sister to her family.
Tomasa is survived by her husband, Johnny Leal of Dimmitt, 1 son, Ruben John Leal of Lavon, 1 brother, Roberto Garcia of Weslaco, 4 sisters, Maria Luisa Gutierrez of Hereford, Gloria Rodriguez of Amarillo, Anita Velasquez and Irene Sepeda both of Dimmitt.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Luz Garcia and Josefa (Garza) Garcia.
