Tommie Sue Sisson Petty Nisbett

Tommie Sue Nisbett, 92, of Dimmitt passed from this life on Tuesday, May 8, 2018.

Family will receive family and friends Friday, May 11, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dimmitt with Memorial Services to follow at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Sullivan of First Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.

Tommie Sue was born May 13, 1925, to Thomas J. Sisson and Birdie Kennedy Sisson, in Littlefield, TX. She was married to Calvin Petty on November 21, 1945, until his death on October 6, 1976. She was married to Homer Nisbett in 1980 until his death in 1987.

She was a resident of Castro County from 1947 until her death and was involved in numerous activities throughout the years, including Friendship Quilters, Home Demonstration Club, Mulkey 4-H parents, Castro County Hospital Auxiliary and Senior Citizens.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, and telling "stories."

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Calvin Petty, husband Homer Nisbett, six brothers and two sisters.

Tommie Sue is survived by two sons: Dan Petty of Dimmitt, Arlie Petty and wife Barbara of Canyon TX; two daughters: Sherlon Petty Dyer and husband Ed of Robinson TX, Jeanne Petty White of Amarillo TX; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Dimmitt First Baptist Church, 1201 Western Circle Dr., Dimmitt, TX 79027, Dimmitt Senior Citizens, 218 W. Jones St., Dimmitt, TX 79027 or a favorite charity.
