Urban M. Ball, 84, of Nazareth, Texas passed away on July 17, 2014 in Dimmitt. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July, 21, 2014 at 10:30AM in Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Ken Keller as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 5:45PM at the church. Urban was born on September 27, 1929 to Leo Ball and Josephine Gerber Ball in Nazareth, Texas. He grew up in Nazareth. Urban owned and operated Balls Package Store for many years up until his retirement and served as Mayor of the City of Nazareth for a number of years. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was an active volunteer for the church for a number of years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Urban enjoyed watching baseball and was an avid fan. Urban is survived by 2 brothers, Jim Ball and wife Evelyn of Plainview, and Fred Ball of Nazareth, 2 sisters, Mary Kleman and husband Carl Dean of Nazareth and Esther Braddock of McKinney, 14 nephews, 4 nieces and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Vernon Braddock, nephew, Jim Schmucker, and great-nephew, Shane Kleman.
