Verba Mae Sadler, 98, of Sunnyside passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 in Canadian.  Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 2:00PM in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Brian West officiating.  Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at the funeral home.

Verba Mae Sadler was born on February 5, 1920 in Gunsight, Texas (Stephen County) to William Ernest Loudder and Nora (Baggett) Loudder.  She moved to the Kress community in the 1920's and then to the Sunnyside community where she went to school until it closed and graduated from Dimmitt High School.  She married Ezell Sadler on July 9, 1938 and they had 3 children and were very active in the community and Sunnyside Baptist Church where they farmed on the Sadler home place.  Verba loved making and decorating cakes, crafts, listening to music, rock hunting, playing games and helping Ezell on the farm.  Later in life she helped Ezell make concrete bunkers for feedlots.  Together they built a cabin on Lake Hubbard at Breckenridge where they hosted annual family reunions during the summer.  They loved fishing, playing cards, dominoes and playing in the water.  The last get-together there was to celebrate her 98th birthday with 34 family members out of 42 where they enjoyed the weekend.  The most greatest joy was getting to spend time with her family.

Verba is survived by 3 children, Patricia Powell and husband James of Canadian, Larry Sadler and wife Sharon of Dimmitt and David Sadler and wife Gay of Dimmitt, grandchildren, Randy Powell, Tresa Sirmans, Cheryl Logan, Carrie Sadler, Stacy and Jim Norman, Laura and Robert Able, Melody and Walter Roye and Karla Sadler, 14 great-grandchildren, Ken, Amber, Tiffiny, Matt, Jeremy, Shaina, Joshua, Kristen, Samuel, Brett, Spencer, Bryant, Shyann and Shaeli, 9 great-great-grandchildren, Kye, Joseph, Emery, Jericho, Kasen, Tyson, Zane, Maddox and Asher nephew, Myles Sadler, nieces, Genevieve, Yvonne, Nancy, Paula, Sandy and several great nieces and nephews.

Verba is preceded in death by her husband, Ezell Sadler, her parents, Ernest and Nora Loudder, 2 brothers, Alton Loudder and Leslie Loudder, sister, Ernestine Bowden, a great grandson, Jamie Lee Hurtado, great-great grandson, Hunter Roye and 2 nephews, Dwayne and Douglas Loudder.
