Wamon Foster, 92, of Hart, Texas, passed away in Hart on Sunday, September 15, 2024. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Dimmitt, with Reverend Donna Lindley officiating. Arrangements and Cremation Services have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.

Wamon was born on August 14, 1932, in Petersburg, Texas to Emmett Edgar and Lena (Falls) Foster. He attended and graduated high school in Petersburg then furthered his education at West Texas State College, receiving his Bachelor of Business. Wamon proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1962.

Wamon married Mary Nell Lindsey on August 17, 1952; they moved to Hart, Texas where they raised their four children and Wamon proudly farmed. Mary passed away in 2005. He remarried Arlene Dyer Foster on September 2, 2007, she passed away in 2013. Wamon was a resident of Hart for 68 years, a member of the Hart Lions Club, a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church, served several terms as chairman of the Hart School Board and served a term as Mayor of Hart.

Wamon loved agriculture and loved to visit and tour other farms. He enjoyed playing cards and family games, traveling, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and doing crossword puzzles. He was a quiet, kind, open-minded, and generous man, who loved his family deeply and worked hard to provide.

Those left to cherish his memories are his daughter Jean Hendry of Lakewood, Colorado; grandchildren, Beth Simer and husband Brett of Moore, Oklahoma, Daniel Heare of Pampa, Texas, Marielle Hendry and wife Ashley Coffey of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jesse Foster of Clarendon, Texas, Alexis Garcia and husband Juan of Plainview, Texas, Tristen Foster and wife Emily of Lubbock, Texas, and  Izzabella Mayes and husband Eric of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 11 great grandchildren; and Tim's partner Vicki Flores of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Lena Foster, wife Mary Nell Lindsey, wife Arlene Dyer Foster, son Philip Christopher Foster, daughter Lisa Karen Foster Heare, son Timothy Alan Foster, and sisters, Marie Koester and Aileen Tucker.
