Wayne Mohon, 82, of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on May 26, 2020, in Dimmitt, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020 at 1:30 PM at the First Baptist Church of Dimmitt with Pastor Jonathan Sullivan officiating. Cremation and Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.

Wayne was born May 27, 1937 in Aubrey, Texas to H.L. and Mary "Mutt" (Lawson) Mohon. Wayne grew up in Panhandle, Texas and graduated from Panhandle High School after high school he attended Fullerton Junior College and earned his associates degree in Industrial Technology.  Wayne then married Cora Fay Bonifield on June 9, 1961. They had been residents of Dimmitt since 1971.  Wayne worked for the Corn Sweetner Plant in Dimmitt for 34 years as a storeroom manager before his retirement. Wayne was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Dimmitt where he served as a deacon while also serving on several other church committees. He enjoyed doing mission work for the Texas Baptist Men, the Blackaby Ministries and also lending a hand with the Help Hands Ministry in Dimmitt.  Anytime Wayne could get away he was always up for a good fishing and camping trip.

Those left to cherish his memories are 2 daughters, Beth Raper and husband Joe of Borger, TX, Deborah Huseman of Panhandle, TX, 1 son, David Mohon and wife Angie of Levelland, TX, 1 sister Cynthia Mohon, and 1 brother Tyrone Luck, 7  grandchildren, Andrew Raper of Amarillo, TX, Kaile Monroe and husband Tyler of Wolfforth, TX , Brion Raper of Borger, TX, Jill Huseman of Las Animas, CO, Mitchell Stevens and wife Chelsea of Amarillo, TX, Ashley Mills of Lubbock, TX and Casey McCorkle and husband Dustin of  Lubbock, TX, 6 great-grandchildren, Jax Monroe, Haidyn Monroe, Keighton Mills, Carson Stevens, Hudson Stevens, and  Maverick McCorkle.

Wayne is preceded in death by his wife, Faye Mohon, parents, H.L. and Mary Mohon and 1 brother, Jere Don Mohon.
