Willie Earl Ward, 79, of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022, in Dimmitt, Texas. Celebration of Life Service will be on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas. Viewing will be on Friday, May 27, 2022, from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the funeral home.

Willie was born May 6, 1943, in Abernathy, Texas, to Jake and Oralee (Robertson) Ward. Willie liked racing cars, especially his GTO; he enjoyed doing paint jobs and bodywork on vehicles. On Sunday afternoon Willie and his brother would take their grandchildren racing. Willie also enjoyed fishing and playing dominoes; his grandchildren called him "Pawpaw", and he loved talking and visiting with them and his children.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Mary Ward of Dimmitt, Texas, his children Hugh Ward of Roswell, NM., Don Ward of Gary, Indiana, Sidney Ward and his wife Amy of Kansas City, Kansas, David Ward of El Paso, Texas, Stella Carson and husband Ricky of Gary, Indiana, Tina Ulibarri and her husband Michael of Clovis, NM., Danny Ward of Dalhart, Texas, and Michael Ward and his wife Erica of Anton, Texas, his siblings Sylvester Ward of Lubbock, Texas, Dorothy Jean Walker of Amarillo, Texas, Wanda Sherman of Tulia, Texas, Kurt Ward of Amarillo, Texas, Joyce Hood of Amarillo, Texas, and Sandra Ward of Dallas, Texas; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Willie is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Cecil and Walter Ward.
